Synthesis
The course is about Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and the analyze of societal and environmental risks and impacts for the companies when implementing and developing industrial activities. The course includes 6 chapters/modules that can be adjusted based on students’ prior knowledge:
– Module 1 : Corporate Social Responsibility : definitions, Governance and Ethics, Sustainable Development Objectives and example of strategy
– Module 2 : Societal and environmental risks : definitions, analysis grids
– Module 3 : Legislation, studies
– Module 4 : Relationships with stakeholders
– Module 5 : Environmental and social impacts management
– Module 6 : The creation of local value : local content, development projects, sponsorship, social business.
The course includes a number of exercises:
– Several exercises punctuate the first module.
– A multi components workshop, which highlights the development of industrial activities in a region, starts with module 2 and finish the last day.
– An exercise to build and develop a social-business project (distribution/sale of solar lanterns), at the conclusion of module 6.
