I began my career at the Ministry of Industry from 1972 to 1975 at the regional directorate of Lorraine in Metz and then from 1975 to 1978 in Paris at the Directorate-General of Energy before joining the Prime Minister’s Office Raymond Barre from 1978 to 1981, in charge of mission.

He joined the Elf Aquitaine group in 1981 and held various positions at the head office (including deputy finance director from 1985 to 1988) and in the exploration-production branch (responsible for the Lacq production center and other French deposits from 1988 to 1991 And General Manager of the subsidiary Elf Petroland in The Hague from 1991 to 1994).

I was Chief Financial Officer of Elf Aquitaine from 1994 to 2000 and Director of Strategy and Risk Assessment and member of the Executive Committee of Total from 2000 to 2008).
