This course attemps at learning Master students definitions of petroleum and gas fluids, the history of petroleum knowledge, in terms of exploration and production, as well as the evaluation of the so-called petroleum systems.On these bases we develop in the course the associated technological methods and the different disciplines involved in the study and exploitation of all available data.Last but not least are given the definitions of hydrocarbon resources and reserves and the notions of risk, uncertainty, value
