Personnes rencontrées

I met nobody from the KBTU staff. Welcome by Karina, the students representative ( one of the 17)

Moyens pédagogiques

One booklet in English (4 slides per sheet – i.e. 2slides per page, recto verso) + in digital format (pdf), the presentations answering the questions asked in the  »One Minute Paper »

Impression générale

Very rewarding week spent with very motivated students. – Courses in English from 16:00 to 21:00 – 17 students were supposed to attend, but only 16 present each day – As most of the time, the audience was very heterogeneous : some students discovered the oil world only 3 months ago, coming from a very different bachelor cycle such as piping engineering, housing electrical wire network design or hydroelectric engineering… There were also 5 exploration geologists and 5 petroleum engineers. – Students were very interested and very attentive ( no play at all with phones during the courses).

Quid du futur ?

KBTU is very demanding of TPA courses. The students found the cycle of 3 courses in Reservoir Engineering very comprehensive. Cycle probably maintained next year.

Questions posées par les étudiants

Questions were mainly addressing clarifications on concepts not fully mastered (topics I did not detail in the bulk of the presentations, considering they are basics) due to the heterogeneity of the audience (see above). Several students enquired about the content of a career in R.E. and asked about the best way to become an experienced reservoir engineer (including training abroad)
