Impression générale
Very good organisation from TEP Malaysia and from UTP.
Opening session : Yuzila Yusof did a presentation of Total E&P in Malaysia
Photos were taken with the group of Participants
UTP organisation was very good : attendance list organised every day, large classroom fully equiped
Timing of the courses was strictly respected : from 9:00 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 3:45 pm
No problem of communication with the students. All Participants were disciplined, attentive, proactive; many questions asked.
Six small films/videos were presented with comments.
Prof. Moacyr Laruccia was present at 90% of the courses ; he has a large operational background and did good appropriate interventions.
Three others Prof. from UTP-Staff have participated to 90% of the courses.
Approx. 90% of the programme was covered : priority given to answer questions.
The Students
Between 40 to 45 (59 registered). 38 present to the Test/Control (30 boys + 8 girls)
Background : PE, mechanical Engr, civil Engr, construction Engr, ….
Level of Studies : 8 (13%) are UTP-Staff ; 22 PhD (37%) ; 25 MsC (43%) ; 4 UG (7%)
Nationalities : Students coming from Malaysia, Pakistan, Nigeria, Syria, Libya, Indonesia
The Test/control : 50 minutes duration, closed books but students working in « binomes »
To get a TPA Certificate > 75% of presence AND mark > 60% were requested ; such rules (my rules !) were known from the very first day.
Results (see attached sheet) : marks average : 72/100 ; 16 marks > 81/100 ; 8 marks < 54%
Certificates will be send to UTP via TOTAL E&P Malaysia
I want to thank Total Malaysia, Yuzila Yusof, Ina Tasleem Iqbal for their help for preparing this intervention and their assistance during my stay in Malaysia. Also thank Mark Been to welcome TPA.
Quid du futur ?
Given the high level of interest expressed by students and Prof from UTP-Staff (specially for these couses about Offshore-Deepwater subjects), it is most probable that this course will be again requested in 2018.
Questions posées par les étudiants
At the end, 90% of the programme was covered BUT priority was given to answer all questions.
