Interprétation structurale des données sismiques

Excellent University, the best one from my experience in Brazil. It is worth noting that they attract students from South America as we had students from Bolivia, Colombia and Ecuador at least. The organization was perfect with one cicerone dedicated to us during the whole week from the SPE Chapter, in our case the Secretary. All the logistics were of high quality: classrooms, video-projectors, microphones and sound system; There is even a restaurant (and hotel) for visiting Professors with a good quality/price ratio e.g. around 50 Reals for the meal. The student in charge was our driver with its own car expecting us all the time. Students: 30 were enrolled, 28 followed the whole course and participated to the exams. About half were doing a PhD and one third was female. Results were very good. 15 were above the mark of 14 required for passing the course by Brazilian standards. However we will give the marks as they are to the Professor in charge to leave him to decide for everyone. We met Professor Alexandre Vidal which is different to the one who requested the course (Alessandro Batezelli) as he is in charge of the second semester. He was quite pleased with our course, said it is integrated in the cursus and asked us to come back next year. He confirmed the interest for him to complete their teaching with practical experience from the Industry. We will see… The best students are the first 5 including our cicerone Conrado Freschi, geologist starting a PhD on simulation but looking for a job. We recommend it also for his leadership and organizational qualities. Relations with TEPBR and logistics The arrival in São Paolo was well organized and the driver expecting us as planned. It is only 1hour1/2 to go to the hotel and the cost only 700 Reals i.e. 150 euros instead of 300 for Viracopos hence a difference of 88 euros compensated by one more night and meal in the second case. Also it means 2 flights with a change in Rio and our flight on Saturday was delayed with a risk of missing the connection in Rio. Therefore in the future we recommend the travel by São Paolo GRU airport which is safer on the way back, avoid one extra day and long hours waiting in Rio when coming. One suggestion to TEPBR: check whether we could stay at their hotel inside the campus. With respect to the allowance, the level is 120 Reals a day (26 euros for transportation and meals). The average price of a plate is 50 (w/o desserts, close to 70 included, drinks and coffee in addition). It is OK for those who are invited. It was not for us as we were not and conversely invited some students with our cicerone. It should be revised up. The rest of the logistics was OK with ALATUR, the TEPBR agent. We understand that it was a new year for TEPBR with a lot of courses in unknown territory far from Rio. We thank Ginette, Fabio and Thais for their assistance.
