Moyens pédagogiques
1 booklet (printed 4 slides per page) covering the presentations + same in pdf (since 70 students were initialy expected, only 30/35 copies were printed)
Extra documents (conversions, abbreviations…)
Extra presentations answering specific questions asked at end of the days ( »One minute paper ») given in pdf.
Impression générale
Logistics was handled by two or three leading students.
After the first day where 70 students were awaited, 56 show up and 47 were really motivated.
But as usual, the audience was very heterogenous (explorationists, well engineers, mechanical engineers…). The content of the course, agreed by Prof. V Ryzhkov, was too advanced for some students.
However, all the students were all very interested on well mechanics : what controls the well rate/potential (in real life, irrespectively of the simulation approach)
Only few questions during the course itself ; the type of room was not really appropriate, very elongated in witdth, counting only 3 rows of chairs facing the two screens ; the use of blackboard was not confortable : actually, two rooms in one !!
Quid du futur ?
Students found the presentations very interesting and worth being reconducted next year.
It is not clear how this course is integrated in the cursus, at least for some groups of students.
Questions posées par les étudiants
Student participation : as said above, only few questions during the courses, but a lot of specific and focused questions during the breaks and at the end of each day.
Extra questions
– on viscous oils, simulaton of fractured reservoirs, fluid types…
– on types of jobs proposed by oil industry, and how to progress in such a complex, multidisciplinary world…, possible types of careers…
