Impression générale
Very good location of the Faculty of Science, close to the tower Total therefore easy and fast access in comparison with that of the Central University far away and outside Luanda
This class had more students than expected (up to 32 compared to 20 expected), which still involved some logistical problems (booklets, exercices sheets, …).
It is necessary to note an insufficient assiduity (at the beginning of each day of the classroom) and a rather average level which forced us to slightly overestimate the notes. This is partly due to the language (poorly spoken English, average Spanish, they wish all in Portuguese !).
The duration, due to trafic problems, was established at 5 hours (8 to 1 pm with personal work at home) but the presence of all the participants at the beginning was difficult to obtain.
Air-conditioned room and auditorium format very well suited for simple presentations and exercises but less convenient when we use several or large documents.
A technician is dedicated to the room to solve technical problems.
Video jack in VGA (provide a cable if HDMI)
Many thanks to Total Angola for the 10 laptops were provided during the week
Quid du futur ?
Probably reconduct next year with the same configuration (2 weeks – one for geography/ meteorolgy and one for geosciences)
Questions posées par les étudiants
Many questions about the technique and applications from Remote Sensing and GIS.
Some questions and requests for help on mapping projects in progress in the country
Despite numerous slides were translated in Portuguese, presentations mainly in Spanish, several comments were done on the language. They would prefer every things in Portugese !
