91 students following the ICARE Master Year one-with a score of Africa origin attendants. English level still a bit low for a few ones… Students follow the slides as presented on their lab top and most of them takes hand notes ina very silent and quiet atmosphere… However it’s still difficult (as usual with Chinese students) to create dynamic of question and to receive any feed back. A much better participation was noted during the 2 less formal tutorial sessions encompassing topics review and discussion with some board exercises & technical short videos. Concerning the level : even if the students are supposed to have at least a Bachelor level -basic science concepts are not fully mastered for some strudents, in particular with the foreigners. Also I must say that with G. Langlais program in addition the same week – work load was quite heavy for the students – some courses finishing at 11pm in the evening .. Last day a quiz (30 questions in one Hour with open course help) was set — 5 % of the students have really been unable to answer to the questions ( less than 50/100 mark- and in spite that most of the questions and calculation demanded have been reviewed during the previous sessions… Sorry but the foreigners they didn’t get their certificate. For the other ones, results repartition were quite correct – see herewith the mark curb centered on the 70 to 80% range.
