Makerere University is fairly well organized and the computer room used is particularly pleasant for practical work, once the computers screens set aside. The level is quite low overall for masters. Participants have an episodic approach to the course and a very random attendance. This problem, already encountered in the past in Uganda, is becoming recurrent in many countries. One way to combat this absenteeism was to offer several quizzes at specific time, which lowers the average score. Certificates were only distributed to 13 students who participated more than 75% of the time. The accommodation at the Golden Tulip hotel was excellent, very close to Total Uganda and not too far from the university (20 minutes maximum). The provision of a driver at each rotation was not a problem and very well organised, except that it restricts travel and requires to stay in the hotel, especially for meals. The Ugandan shillings allowance of about 9 euros per meal allows, in this hotel, to take both a salad and a bottle of water or a sandwich and sparkling water….
